متن کاملExtended Engagement - Real Time, Real Place in Cyberspace
When we install a hypermedia application into a museum space we change the nature of both the space and the media. That accommodation must be addressed at the start of the design process or it will compromise both space and media. A careful (and effective) installation will take into account a number of specifics, including site and audience. What are the dimensions of this space? What is its c...
متن کاملA Proxy Server-Network for Real-Time Computer Games
Computer games played over the Internet have recently become an important class of distributed applications. In this paper we present a novel proxy server-network topology aiming at improved scalability of multiplayer games and low latency in client-server data transmission. We present a mechanism to efficiently synchronize the distributed state of a game based on the concept of eventual consis...
متن کاملReal-time Human Proxy: An Avatar-based Communication System
We propose a concept of real-time human proxy for avatar-based communication systems, which virtualizes a human in the real world in real-time and which lets the virtualized human behave as if he/she was present at a distant place. For estimating RHP, we apply it to a simple game and a virtual classroom system. The experimental results shows us that RHP is useful for avatar-based communication.
متن کاملSecure Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) for Hierarchical Proxy Caching
Proxies are commonly used to cache objects, especially multimedia objects, so that clients can enjoy better quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees such as smaller startup latency and lower loss rate. But the use of multimedia proxies increases the risk that data are exposed to unauthorized access by intruders. In this paper, we propose an enhancement of the Internet IETF’s Real-time Streaming Prot...
